Not sure what outfit to wear for your engagement photos? You’ve tried on everything in your closet and still no luck? I think we can agree we’ve all been there. I have definitely been there. That’s why I wanted to take a minute and share outfits, links, and advice that I tell my clients that helps them out so much! Choosing the right engagement photo outfits can feel stressful but together, we’ll create a perfect outfit for you. “Weather” it’s Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter, I’ve got outfit ideas for you!

1) Buy something new

Maybe you are surprised I mentioned this one, but I think it is such a special photoshoot that it is worth the new dress, jeans, blouse, etc. Buying something used or new to feel confident and to love your photos is not a crime! You won’t regret it if you love the piece. I also don’t think you have to go all out and buy a new wardrobe, but if you want to… you do you! Finding the perfect engagement photo outfits can boost your confidence.

I loved these outfits my clients showed up in. Travis and Heavyn showed up for their fall engagement photoshoot in the most perfect outfits. With so many fall colors in the background, leaning into simple colors worked so well. You can shop their outfits here!

For Nakai and Jason’s Maternity shoot in the hills of Pocatello (you can read about this shoot here!), I knew we’d have perfect golden grass. Avoiding patterns and bold colors work really well here as well! Jason wore a Green shirt and Nakai wore an off white dress. These colors were also gender neutral which worked amazing for their shoot since they didn’t know the gender of their baby yet! I’ve linked outfit options similar to these here! 2) Neutrals 🤝 Engagement Photo Outfit Ideas

You can never go wrong with neutrals in a photoshoot. The images turn out so aesthetically pleasing. Because most of the shoots I do are outside in nature, having a good balance of neutrals is perfect for engagements. Going with jeans and a solid colored blouse helps the focus be on you and your partner. Neutral engagement photo outfits are always a safe and stylish choice.

3) Fall in love with your outfits!

I want you to feel at your best and if that means hopping on a Facetime call or sending recommendations… I am your girl. Let’s get it perfect and have the most beautiful time. I often suggest starting with the colors you want to wear and go from there! After that, it is easy to pair a blouse, pants, and shoes. Or if you are wanting to wear a sundress, it is easy to pair a jacket, hat, and accessories after picking it out! Planning engagement photo outfits can be a fun and creative process if you start with the right colors.

I always say to pick a good pair of jeans. I love shoots where we have simple colors on top with jeans. You can never go wrong with simple colors for your engagement photos! Here are a couple of options that I think pair well together.

4) Recheck your closet

Like I mentioned, we have all felt like there is nothing to wear when an event is coming up. I promise there is! I always take a step back and pick out a few options and go from there. It is the process of elimination while mixing and matching to create the best engagement photo outfits.

Something that always helps me is picking out a favorite outfit that I would normally wear on a date or an occasion that requires a little effort. Something that I makes me feel put together and complete is jewelry. I love a hint of color or texture to outfits. By adding some accessories like earrings, necklaces, or bracelets, the outfit is complete! Accessories can be the perfect complement to your engagement photo outfits.
